You want to work with caring people who dedicate themselves in a non-profit organization, and you are looking for a great challenge in your career, this position will fit with you.

Under the supervision of the finance department and the human resources department, you will be responsible for generating two pay cycles every two weeks for approximately 250 people (sometimes more depending on the time of year). You will also be responsible for managing the group employee benefit plans (group insurance and group RRSP).

Specific duties include:
• Checking timesheets
• Validating requested salary changes
• Processing hourly and salaried employees’ pays
• Preparing records of employment
• Conducting rigorous follow-ups with employees regarding membership in the group insurance plan and RRSP
• Preparing statutory holiday pay scales for hourly employees, based on the various provincial regulations
• Checking all payroll transactions before submitting the data
• Answering employees’ payroll-related questions
• Making mandatory remittances in a timely manner
• Preparing and tracking monthly group insurance charges for employees on maternity or disability leave
• Validating and importing salary expenses into the ACCPAC accounting software in a timely manner
• Conducting the balance sheet analysis for all accounts relating to payroll.
• Carefully managing the group insurance plan; making the required changes with our supplier (addition, cancellation or modification of insurance coverage); reconciling group insurance deductions with invoices received from our supplier on a monthly basis
• Preparing required salary-related information and assisting external auditors during the annual audit
• Issuing T4, T4A and Relevé 1 slips
• Reconciling and verifying all year-end reports, and preparing and filing the required summaries with government agencies
• Producing various reports for Finance and Human Resources
• Filing payroll documents on a regular basis
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports

Required Skills:
• College diploma in Accounting
• Level 1 and 2 accreditation from The Canadian Payroll Association; levels 3 and 4 will be required
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in complete payroll processing, including the accounting analyses related to payroll accounts
• Knowledge of ADP payroll software an asset
• Knowledge of ACCPAC accounting software an asset
• Computer skills: Excel (advanced), Word
• Ability to work under pressure
• Strong ability to produce accurate work within required deadlines
• The ability to function in both official languages
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy
• Ability to work both independently and as a team player
• Self motivated; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines


Salary : 74-80K$
